Condolence
The Meghalaya Retired College Teachers’ Association (MRCTA) has condoled the demise of Rekha Devi, former vice principal and Head of the Department of Zoology, Shillong College, who passed away in Bangalore on April 16 following illness for some time. Late Rekha Devi had joined college in the year 1972 as a lecturer and made indelible impression on her students and colleagues through her knowledge, method of teaching and also extremely pleasing behaviour, the association said in a statement issued here. She maintained an active social life after retirement till she fell ill about a year ago, it added.
The members of Matri Mandir, Polo Ground, Shillong, have condoled the demise of one of the organisation members, Suhrid Chakraborty, who passed away on Saturday in Kolkata. They remembered his immense contribution and observed a two-minute silence as a mark of respect to the departed soul.
