Nikman assures separate electoral roll, clearance of pending salary within four months

TURA, April 20: Soon to be Deputy CEM of the GHADC and Rongrikkimgre MDC, Nikman Ch Marak on Tuesday is said to have assured a delegation of pressure group members that their various demands which include the preparation of a separate electoral roll for the GHADC would be achieved within four months time of the new EC taking charge.

 

Members of the GSU, Southern on Tuesday met Nikman and submitted a memorandum demanding a separate electoral roll for the GHADC, early payment of pending salaries to the employees, debarment of non-tribal candidates from the next council elections and the successful passing and implementation of the Garo Customary Law (GCL).

 

As per the claims of the organizations in a statement issued here soon after the meeting, Nikman assured them that the issues would be looked into and all those raised by them would be achieved within four months.
