NONGSTOIN, April 20: An FIR has been filed with the Nongstoin Police Station on complaint received from the Medical Superintendent of Nongstoin Civil Hospital, J Kharkongor, against fraud and forgery of birth certificates.
As per the FIR, one person identified as Krelin Kharbani recently brought three birth certificates to the office of medical superintendent for correction where all three were identified as fake certificates.
The forgery was found when the signature of the medical superintendent on the birth certificates did not match the signature of the medical superintendent of the Nongstoin Civil Hospital during that period.
Upon inspection, it was also found out that the registration number of all the three birth certificates did not match with the entries in the Birth and Death register and the handwriting in certificates did not match with the handwriting of the dealing assistance.
After further questioning, Krelin Kharbani confessed that she had paid Rs 1,500 per certificate to the fraudster in order to obtain the fake certificates.
