Members of Geetali, a socio-cultural organisation of Laban, condoled the demise of CA Ajit Paul, a patron of the club, who had passed away in Shimla recently. “Apart from being a successful professional, Paul was a noble human being and always remained helpful towards the club,” the club said in a statement issued here.
The South Shillong Block Congress Committee has conveyed its condolences over the demise of Congress leader Ostiwel Lyngdoh Nonglait on Tuesday. In a statement, the Congress Committee recalled the contributions of the late leader, who had contested the KHADC election in 2019 from the Indian National Congress. “The party lost a young leader and felt that no words would be enough to describe his sad demise and observed that the void caused due to the untimely demise would be difficult to fill,” the committee said in the statement.

West Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner (Supply) has informed that rice for AAY, PHH and non-NFSA beneficiaries under NFSA/non-NFSA for April, in respect of Tura Sadar Division, has been released. According to a statement, rice will be available for 35 kg per card per month at the rate of Rs 3 per kg for AAY beneficiaries, 5 kg per head per month at the rate of Rs 3 per kg for PHH beneficiaries and 7.105 kg per card per month for which price will be fixed by the Price Vigilance Committee of fair price shop centre, not exceeding Rs 13 per kg for non-NFSA beneficiaries.
