Public transport drivers to get vaccine in GH
Authorities in West Garo Hills district have decided to fast-track the vaccination drive for public transport drivers and helpers, given the high-risk job they undertake by ferrying unaccounted number of passengers from everywhere.
“Since public transporters are dealing with large numbers of commuters every day, we feel they also need to be vaccinated. They even have the difficult task of enforcing COVID protocols by way of ensuring passengers wear their masks,” informed West Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner Ram Singh after a meeting with transport operators in Tura on Thursday.
