NONGPOH, April 30: Ri Bhoi Deputy Commissioner, RM Kurbah, has directed all the attendees of the Nongmahir Boating Festival, which was recently held at Nongmahir Lakewood Island, Kyrdemkulai, to undergo 10-day home quarantine. The DC has also appealed to the attendees to intimate the district control room at 03638232028/1077 or health helpline number at 8797520449 if they develop any COVID-related symptoms.
It may be mentioned that the directive was issued after a man from Nongdiengngan village, who had attended the Nongmahir Boating Festival on April 17, was tested positive for COVID.
Micro-containment areas
Meanwhile, in a separate order, the Ri Bhoi district magistrate has declared Nongdiengngan village as the micro-containment area till May 1 and the house and compound of Babu Ram Rai of Pyllun village, near ICAR last gate, till May 4.
The directive has been necessitated after the detection of COVID-19 positive cases at Nongdiengngan and Pyllun village in Ri Bhoi.
According to the order, the entry of people has been restricted in the area.
New restrictions
Meanwhile, the Ri Bhoi DC has also issued a slew of fresh restrictions across the district.
According to a statement, essential shops have been permitted to function on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays between 9 am and 4 pm. The DC has also directed the market committee and the Village Dorbar to issue odd and even number to all shops.
Meanwhile, opening of hardware shops, electrical shops, plumbing & sanitary ware, computer service centre, mobile and automobile repair shops have been permitted only on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 9 am and 4 pm.
“Others shops and vendors such as computer stores and their repair shops, stationery and book stalls, automobile showrooms, car wash units, gift shops, furniture shops, photo studios, clothes and garments, musical instruments, textiles, sport equipment, cycle shops, tailoring, dry cleaners, footwear, bridal shops, ornaments, toy shops, home appliances, sewing craft and novelty shops, home furnishing, flower shops, mattress and quilt shops, emporiums, electronic items, nail salons, kitchen appliances including crockery, etc, tattoo studios, watches and clocks shops, spas, dance studios, driving schools and cosmetic shops will remain closed with effect from May 1 to May 10,” the directive said.
Other activities that are permitted include construction activities, banks and banking services, post & telegraph and telecommunication services. The Central Government Offices and banks are allowed to function at 100% strength for Group A and 30% for Group B, C & D staffs. Movement is permitted only to health services, agriculture, veterinary, transport of essential items, goods vehicles, e-commerce services, supply of medicines and pharmaceuticals, home delivery service, press and movement of students, teachers and staff related with the ongoing examinations, however, the order will not be applicable to person travelling on essential government duty.
All non-essential private offices and central government offices will remain closed have also directed to remain shut.
“Movement of non-transport vehicles with number ending with 0,2,4,6 and 8 will be allowed on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays whereas vehicles with number ending with 1,3,5,7 and 9 will be allowed to ply on Tuesday, Thursday & Saturday. No public transport vehicles will be allowed to ply on Sunday. Other vehicles are allowed to ply with passes issued by the Deputy Commissioner,” the statement said.
