HSPDP out of bypoll race

SHILLONG, April 30: The HSPDP has made it clear that the party has no plans to contest the two upcoming bypolls in the state.
HSPDP MLA Renikton Lyngdoh Tongkhar that the party has no plans to contest the bypolls in either Mawryngkneng or Rajabala constituencies.
The MLA, however, said that the party might change its mind on the bypolls if it gets suitable candidates.
“In Garo Hills, we don’t have any base but here in Mawryngkneng, Pyniaid Sing Syiem had won the MDC elections for the first time as an HSPDP candidate, so we know for a fact that voters of the constituency love our party,” he added.
