BSF seizes Bangla currency worth over Rs 12 lakh

SHILLONG, May 1: BSF Meghalaya Frontier troops of BOP Lyngkhat, 30 Battalion seized Bangladesh currency worth Rs 12.88 lakh at the international border on Saturday.
BSF personnel on duty suspected unusual movement of persons on both sides of the border and on searching the area, recovered the currency in denomination of 1,000 and 500 Bangladeshi Taka.
UK Nayal, DIG PRO, said, “It is reliably learnt that the currency seized was meant for payment in lieu of cattle smuggled to Bangladesh from India.”
