‘Will reactivate corona care centres in WKH’

NONGSTOIN, May 19: West Khasi Hills Deputy Commissioner, T Lyngwa, on Wednesday said that the district administration and the Health Department will reactivate all the community corona care centres in the district to combat the COVID-19 scenario.
Addressing media persons here, Lyngwa informed that so far the district administration has declared 96 locations as micro-containment zones in the district.
With regard to the vaccination among the 18-44 age group, the DC said that so far 30,725 have been administered the first dose while both the doses have been administered to 5,545 people. On plaints that select people find it difficult to register online for vaccination, Lyngwa said for now no changes can be made on the modus operandi as prior registration has been mandated by the government.
