Lafarge donates medical equipment to state govt

SHILLONG, May21: In keeping with its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative and in an attempt to promote health and safety amid the ongoing pandemic, Lafarge Umiam Mining Private Limited (LUMPL) has donated two units of high-flow oxygen equipment to the Meghalaya government, the company said in a statement issued here on Friday.
The medical equipment were handed over to Chief Secretary MS Rao by Narayan Sharma, operations director of LUMPL.
In terms of its community engagement under its regular CSR initiative for Health, LUMPL is working closely with the Nongtrai and Shella village dorbar in lending them support by ensuring PPE, N-95 masks and hand sanitizers for the health workers, besides medicines and vitamins which are provided to the two villages, the statement said.
