PDS quota
The Sub-Divisional Officer (Supply), Sohra Civil Sub-Division, has informed that PDS quota of rice has been released for May at government-approved fair price shops. According to a statement, rice will be available at the scale of 35 kg per card at Rs 3 per kg for AAY card holders, five kg per head at Rs 3 per kg for PHH card holders and 7.215 kg per card at the price fixed by the vigilance committee not exceeding Rs 15 per kg for non-NFSA card holders. Rice free of cost under PMGKAY at the scale of five kg per head for AAY and PHH card holders has also been released.

Awareness
The Meghalaya Scout and Guide Fellowship, in collaboration with the Meghalaya Bharat Scouts and Guides and Assam Don Bosco University, will organise an awareness programme on Saturday at 3 pm. The programme is being held in a bid to underline the importance of handling stress and to confer about the surge in substance use among youths amid pandemic. The public have been asked to participate in the programme, which will be broadcasted live on the Facebook page of Meghalaya Bharat Scouts and Guides.

Competitions
The Divisional Forest Officer, Social Forestry & Territorial Division, Baghmara, will organise drawing, painting and slogan writing competitions for schoolchildren in South Garo Hills. According to a statement on Friday, the aforesaid competitions will be held online.
