SHILLONG, June 5: To mark the celebrations and the launch of “Decade of Restoration” by United Nations Environment Programme, Act Now, an Indian NGO, working for environmental awareness and climate action, organised a unique 24-hour long online event titled ‘Peace Is Green-Every Act Matters’, which concluded on Saturday.
The event was inaugurated by the head of ecosystems division, United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), Tim Christophersen, along with the Director of CBSE, Dr Biswajit Saha. A magazine was also launched at the event.
The event went on live for 24 hours and was joined by environment, climate, wildlife, forest, mountain, ocean and blue economy experts along with youth activists, educators, students etc. from over 70 countries.
