JOWAI, July 2: The District Transport Office, Jowai, has been closed till July 8 after a staff of the office tested positive for COVID-19, the District Magistrate of West Jaintia Hills said.
“All persons who visited the said office are advised to isolate themselves and go for home quarantine for seven days with self monitoring of their health including wearing masks, maintaining social distancing and frequent hand washing. During the period of quarantine, should any symptoms like fever, cough and difficulty in breathing developed, they are to immediately isolate themselves and contact their local headman, the district magistrate said.

The Superintendent of Police of West Jaintia Hills has advised the general public to refrain from spreading any misinformation regarding the efficacy of the COVID-19 vaccine among the people in the district through any medium.
The SP warned that if a person or organisation is found spreading such misinformation about the vaccines, legal action will be initiated against them.
WJH village contained
After positive COVID-19 cases/high-risk contacts were detected at Thadialong village, the District Magistrate of West Jaintia Hills has declared the village as micro containment area.
Meanwhile, the District Magistrate lifted the containment order from Ringkyrtein area under Moodop village in Nartiang, West Jaintia Hills.
