DoNER minister assures full support to NE

NEW DELHI, July 15: Newly-appointed Union Minister for the Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), GK Reddy on Thursday assured Health Minister, AL Hek that the Centre will adopt a multi-pronged strategy for all-round development of the landlocked region.
The priority of the government will be to complete all the ongoing projects in the NE region, Reddy told Hek during their meeting in New Delhi.
Hek also felicitated Reddy with whom he had been closely associated since their days in the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha.
The Union Minister elaborated about his focus to complete ongoing projects on time to avoid cost overrun. They also discussed the pandemic situation in the hill state.
DoNER will also concentrate on making Prime Minister Modi’s Act East Policy a reality, Reddy said.
Reddy, who also holds the Tourism and Culture portfolio, said that the North East region can become a world tourist hub like the South East Asian countries which have similar tourist attractions.
