SHILLONG, July 24: The Transport department has clarified that the Inter-State Bus Terminus (ISBT) is ready in all aspects and can be made operational immediately.
Clarifying on a media report, the department, in a statement on Saturday, said that Transport Minister Sniawbhalang Dhar has been quoted out of context and the statement attributed to him is denied categorically.
“The picture captured in the news item is that of workers cleaning the facade and other parts of the building, and not doing any pending work,” the statement said.
According to the department, the additional land is to make the entrance to the ISBT complex bigger and wider and in no way indicates that the current entry is not suitable for entry of multi-axle buses or for that matter any bus.
