SHILLONG, Aug 6: Two medical representatives were on Wednesday afternoon allegedly assaulted by some miscreants inside Dr. H. Gordon Roberts Hospital.
When contacted, Medical Superintendent of the hospital, Dr R Nongrum, informed that the hospital authorities became aware of the incident on Thursday morning after police visited the hospital.
Expressing surprise that even the security guards at the hospital failed to report the incident, Nongrum said that according to the police, the medical representatives had filed a complaint after the purported assault.
Informing that such incidents have occurred on the hospital premises before, he said that few non-local labourers, who were engaged for some construction work in the hospital, were earlier assaulted by miscreants.
Meanwhile, when contacted, East Khasi Hills SP has informed that a case has been registered and investigation is on.
