People throng Bara Bazar during curfew relaxation hours in Shillong

SHILLONG, August 17: Residents of the city apparently resorted to panic buying of essentials on Wednesday during the period when the curfew was relaxed as a sense of fear and uncertainty has gripped the citizens in view of the prevailing law and order situation in Shillong Agglomeration.

Security personnel on guard in the heart of Shillong city after curfew was re-imposed in the evening of Wednesday.
