231 fresh cases, two deaths in state

SHILLONG, Aug 26: With 231 fresh cases and 362 recoveries in the state in the past 243 hours, the active tally continues to decline and now stands at 2,682.
The total confirmed cases in the state stands at 74,817 out of which 70,841 have recovered so far.
Meanwhile, two more patients succumbed to COVID-19 on Thursday taking the death toll to 1,294.
One death was reported in East Khasi Hills while the other occurred in West Jaintia Hills. Both the deceased had not been vaccinated.
Among the fresh cases, 116 were reported in East Khasi Hills, 47 in West Khasi Hills, 34 in South West Khasi Hills, nine each in West Jaintia Hills and Ri-Bhoi, six in East Garo Hills, three each in South West Garo Hills and West Garo Hills and two each in East Jaintia Hills and North Garo Hills.
