Deadline
The East Khasi Hills Deputy Commissioner has issued a one-month deadline for all operators of cyber cafés in the district to apply for registration/issue of license. A directive in this regard said that all concerned will have to do so by visiting the website megedistrict.gov.in. “As per the Meghalaya Cyber Cafe Rules, 2012, cyber cafe operators should get their cyber cafes registered and obtain a license from the office of the Deputy Commissioner, East Khasi Hills, Shillong,” the directive said.

Office-bearers
The Association for Democracy and Empowerment (ADE), Apex Committee, has constituted its Aradongga Regional Unit in West Khasi Hills and appointed office-bearers for the for the new unit. According to a statement, Nikseng K Marak has been appointed as president, Himan Marak as vice president, Aneng J Marak as general secretary, Chegan J Sangma as assistant general secretary, among others.

BBS College IQAC cell, in collaboration with Think India Tribal Rights Forum, organised a webinar on Tribal Rights and Agricultural Practices under project Eklavya on Thursday. Member of Think India Forum Bhahya Saini, who was the resource person for the webinar, highlighted the importance of tribal rights and the struggles of the tribal populace. The programme was attended by the teaching and non-teaching staff, and college students.
