MIT M’laya inks pact for collaboration with int’l body

SHILLONG, Aug 26: MIT University of Meghalaya has signed a Memorandum of Association (MoA) with EduCLaaS Pte. Ltd. (also Lithan), Singapore, an accredited digital skills accelerator from Singapore with a network of over 50 campuses across Asia, to jointly offer undergraduate and postgraduate degree called ‘CLaaS’.
The MoA was signed between Dr. Malhar Pangrikar, Vice Chancellor, MIT University of Meghalaya, and Leslie Loh, founder and CEO of Lithan, Singapore. Joining them for the ceremony were Dr. Debmalya Bhattacharya, PVC, MIT University of Meghalaya, and Joel Chow, Managing Director, Lithan.
Lithan is an award winning edtech platform and digital skills accelerator that utilises innovative technology and pedagogy to offer relevant, flexible and affordable learning programmes. Lithan’s flagship ‘CLaaS’ product is aligned around a competency-based curriculum, work-based pedagogy and blended learning delivery to deliver global ready skilled talents for the new digital economy.
Lithan and eduCLaaS have served over 30,000 learners and 2,000 enterprises with their network of over 25 campuses across Asia.
Under the partnership, Lithan at MIT Shillong campus will deliver applied degree courses with an international work-study journey where the learners gain up to three years of working experience before graduation which will give the students of North East a sheer advantage.
