SHILLONG, Sep 3: In a bid to provide a boost to the handicraft and handloom sectors, the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) Shillong has signed a Memorandum of

Understanding (MoU) with the North Eastern Handicrafts & Handlooms Development Corporation Limited (NEHHDC), a Central Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER).
The MoU, with an initial tenure of three years, was signed by Dr Arindam Das, Director of NIFT Shillong and Brigadier Rajiv Kumar Singh (Retd.), Managing Director of NEHHDC.
The MoU seeks to support and enhance professional growth of artisans and weavers from the North East and promotion of the handicraft and handloom sectors.
