Ri Bhoi school principals feted

NONGPOH, Sep 4: As part of the Teachers’ Day celebrations, the Mahatma Gandhi University on Friday felicitated principals of Ri Bhoi-based schools during a programme on the University campus.
During the programme, MGU Chancellor, Dr Rajan Chopra, in his speech, said the University’s vision is education for all, including tribals from rural areas of the society.
Dean Academics, MGU, Dr. Dinesh Baishya, on the other hand, expressed the importance of education as a fundamental right.
During the programme, principals of schools in Ri Bhoi were also felicitated in recognition of their contributions towards the field of education.
The principals who were feted include Sister Molly of Savio Higher Secondary School, Tridipa Baruah of Ganesh Mandir Government Higher Secondary School, Prakash Sarma of A1 Junior College, Sister Angelina Marak of St. Paul’s Higher Secondary School, Fr. Anil KJ of Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, et al.
Curtain came down on the programme with the singing of the national anthem.
