Bars reopen
The East Jaintia Hills Deputy Commissioner (Excise) has permitted bars in the district to reopen with immediate effect between 1 pm and 8 pm with 50 per cent of total seating capacity. A statement in this regard said that pregnant women and persons above 65 years will be debarred from entering into the bars.

Natl Lok Adalat
The Secretary of District Legal Service Authority (DLSA), West Jaintia Hills, has informed that National Lok Adalat will be held on Saturday at 10 am in the District and Sessions Court, Jowai. According to a statement it was informed that matters pertaining to criminal compoundable cases, electricity bill (excluding non-compoundable cases), Bakijai cases, labour dispute cases, land acquisition cases, MACT cases, matrimonial cases, among others, will be take up during the National Lok Adalat.
