The Raid Laban Sports, Social and Cultural Organisation has appealed to meritorious students residing within the jurisdiction of 19th South Shillong Constituency to register within October 10 for ‘Meritorious Award for Students, 2021’. A statement in this regard informed that students will be awarded with laptop sets on the basis of their achievements in examinations such as SSLC, HSSLC, ICSE, CBSE, ISC, Degree, PG, Diploma etc., for the academic year 2021. “This award is also conferred to the differently abled/underprivileged/poor dropout deserving successful students who have passed out in any division,” the statement said. Forms for registration have been made available at the office of the Organization, C/o MLA Sanbor Shullai at New Kench’s Trace, Shillong.

Condolence
The Gorkha Secondary School Alumni Association, 3rd Mile, Upper Shillong, has condoled the demise of Dilip Kumar Chettri, a member of the Association who passed away on August 15. In a statement, the Association informed that a two-minute silence was also observed by its members as a mark of respect to the departed soul.
