Push for entrepreneurship as career option for youths

TURA, Sep 15: Youths in North Garo Hills have been asked to take advantage of various schemes available and venture into self-employment.
The appeal was made by Resubelpara BDO Rojalinda D Shira during an awareness programme on various schemes which was organised recently by the District Commerce and Industries Centre (DCIC) at BJN Hall, Resubelpara.
Shira, who as the chief guest, emphasised on promoting self-employment among youths by making them au courant with government schemes.
She also lauded the DCIC’s endeavours towards generating sustainable development and employment among youths.
“Many entrepreneurs are unable to launch their start-up businesses due to lack of financial aid, market access, etc but with the support of convergence departments, the entrepreneurs will be equipped with better infrastructure and environment to facilitate their growth,” she said.
Shira also dwelt at length on various livelihood programmes being implemented under Resubelpara C&RD block.
Others who highlighted on various aspects of the schemes including eligibility criteria, schemes detail and benefits were General Manager DCIC IZ Wreang, Functional Manager Nethaji Marak, et al.
