TURA, Oct 7: With the onset of festive season, South West Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner, Ramakrishna Chitturi, on Thursday once again sought support from religious leaders to realise the target of inoculating majority of Meghalaya’s population against COVID-19 by Christmas or New Year.
The DC made the appeal while addressing the gathering at the inaugural programme of PSA Oxygen Generation Plant of 500 LPM at Ampati Civil Hospital.
Requesting the hospital management to effectively utilise the newly launched infrastructure, he called upon the religious leaders to help dispel misinformation on COVID-19 vaccination.
He also urged them to help the government achieve the target of vaccinating a majority of Meghalaya’s population before Christmas or New Year celebrations.
A similar oxygen generation plant was also inaugurated on the same day at Williamnagar Civil Hospital.
