SHILLONG, Oct 9: A virtual awareness programme on COVID-19 and vaccination was on Saturday organised by the Health Care Cell of Shillong College during which talks were held on vaccine misinformation, COVID prevention, among other issues.
According to a statement, college principal, E Kharkongor, during the webinar, emphasised that deliberations over COVID-19 is the need of the hour since it can address issues such as COVID-19 misinformation that continue to create stumbling blocks in fight against the pandemic.
A resource person from the Health department also attended the programme who stressed on the need to continue following COVID-19-appropriate behaviour despite the declining trend in COVID-19 cases.
Encouraging eligible students to get inoculated against COVID-19, he also exhorted one and all to shy away from rumours and instead seek information from the right source.
