TURA, Oct 24: It was a day of positivity for the state Congress chief on his maiden visit to Garo Hills since assuming charge as he shared the dais with a host of senior party functionaries and two former legislators, who returned to the party fold.
Former Food and Civil Supplies Minister and former legislator from Dadenggre, Augustine D Marak, and former Rajabala MLA and senior BJP leader, Kapin Chandra Boro, have joined the Congress and were invited to the VIP enclosure on the dais sharing space with Pala, Mukul Sangma and Deborah Marak.
The entry of KC Boro into the Congress fold assumes some significance as he was earlier elected from Rajabala. He later shifted to Tikrikilla with disastrous consequences, failing to win from there despite several attempts.
