Needy receive dry ration in city

SHILLONG/ TURA, Oct 30: The marginalised sections of society in Shillong on Friday received essential food commodities/dry rations as part of the ‘Pan India Awareness & Outreach Programme’ during a programme at Shillong Law College.
The distribution programme was carried out by the Meghalaya Legal Services Authority in collaboration with the Lamjingshai Manbha Foundation, Shillong.
Officer on special duty, MSLSA, TTM Sangma, during the programme, informed the beneficiaries that the distribution programme was organised to ensure no one is denied their fundamental rights such as health, housing, nutrition, employment, pension, maternal care, access to water, education, sanitation, et al.

Meanwhile in South Garo Hills, the District Legal Services Authority will organise a series of outreach-cum-awareness programmes at Chokpot, Nongalbibra, Kapasipara, Dabit Ampangdam, Gittinggre, Jaksongram, et al, as part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations.
