Tura FC emerge champions of women’s football tourney

Ampati, Nov 1: Tura FC emerged champions of the Women’s Football Tournament 2021 after defeating Ampati Mix FC 6-1 in the final here on Monday.
The tournament was organised by the office of the District Sports Officer, South West Garo Hills in collaboration with the District Administration, South West Garo Hills at Students Field, Ampati on Monday.
Scoring a total of 9 goals in the tournament, Cheriksa Sangma of Ampati Mix FC was the highest scorer.
Chengmeritha Arengh of Tura FC bagged the best player award while Dimila Marak of Ampati Mix FC was the best goalkeeper.
A total of 10 teams participated in the tournament, with most based in South West Garo Hills. Deputy Commissioner, South West Garo Hills, Ramakrishna Ch. Chitturi attended the match as the chief guest.
