Change of timing for plying of boulder trucks in SWGH

TURA, Nov 6: In view of the reopening of educational institutes in the district, South West Garo Hills District Magistrate, Ch. Ramakrishna, has ordered the change of timing for plying of boulder trucks to Bangladesh through Mahendraganj/Dalu Land Customs Stations to ease traffic congestion and to remove obstructions for free movement of vehicles.
The decision was taken in a meeting with police, District Transport Officer and Export & Import Associations of Mahendraganj and Dalu, at Ampati on November 1.
Following the directive, which gets effectuated from 6 pm of November 8, the timing for plying of boulder trucks in the district has been fixed from 6 pm to 6 am until further orders.
The District Magistrate, in the order, also made it clear that no boulder trucks will be allowed to ply in the district beyond the permitted hours.
