Min inaugurates facilities at Lawsohtun

SHILLONG, Nov 16: Community and Rural Development Minister, Hamletson Dohling, on Monday inaugurated the building for an ATM facility at Lawsohtun Block-IV and the office of the Lawsohtun Farmer’s Association at Block-VI.
Dohling, who is the local MLA of Mylliem, had sanctioned the funds for construction of the two infrastructure facilities through the Special Rural Work Programme (SRWP) of 2019-2020.
The building for ATM was constructed at an estimated amount of Rs 2.5 lakh, while the office of the LFA was constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 6 lakh.
Speaking on the occasion, Dohling said, “I am hopeful that the office will help to strengthen the functioning of the farmer’s association”.
Others who were present on the occasion include BDO of Mylliem C&RD Block, Peter T Passah, Vice Chairman of Meghalaya Industrial Development Corporation Limited, Frederick Lynshiang, Rangbah Shnong of Lawsohtun, Lurshai Shylla, among others.
