The two were summoned by the Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Arpit Upadhyaya, on Thursday.
According to the show-cause, the above mentioned persons were asked to appear at the Court of Sub-Divisional Magistrate at 11 AM on Thursday “to show cause as to why they should not be ordered to execute a bond U/S 107 CrPC not to commit breach of peace fix a period of 6 (six) months or until completion of the inquiry now pending in this court along with surety or like amount of Rs 50,000 each to the government in case of making any default therein”.
The SDM had also mentioned that the two allegedly issued a press statement on November 12 for arbitrary advice to tourist not to visit the Living Root Bridge on November 19. “…information that the Rangbah Shnong of Riwai Village with his Executive Committee is contemplating to deploy volunteers from village Dorbar as counter measure against the abovementioned move by noted persons to ensure that the tourists are not affected in any way by the so-called social work of the clans,” the SDM said. He said that the issues of maintenance and management of the bridge is a contentious issue which is being claimed by Dorbar Shnong of Nohwet and recently being at the custody of CCMT Nohwet Village for managing and monitoring.
