Appointment
Former Home Minister, RG Lyngdoh, has been appointed as the ad hoc president of Nongthymmai Block Congress Committee while Edward Ryntathiang has been appointed as general secretary of the same. The remaining committee members remain unchanged. It may be mentioned that the fresh appointments come in the wake of sitting legislator from Nongthymmai, Charles Pyngrope, joining the All India Trinamool Congress.

Meeting
The Meghalaya Upper Primary School Teachers’ Association (MUPSTA), West Jaintia Hills unit, has extended support to the mass teachers’ meeting which is being organised by its Garo Hills unit on December 3 at Asanang, West Garo Hills.

Inauguration
Ranikor MLA and MDC, Pius Marwein, on Monday inaugurated the office of the Tbeh Jingshai Rangthong Village Organisation and the Rangthong Community Hall at Rangthong village, South West Khasi Hills. While the office of village organisation was constructed at Rs five lakh under the MGNREGS, the community hall was constructed at Rs 30 lakh— Rs 20 lakh under MGNREGS and Rs 10 lakh under KHADC.
