SHILLONG, Dec 2: NPP leader and Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong on Thursday said that the Meghalaya Democratic Alliance (MDA) coalition has a close understanding between its partners, be it the BJP or anybody, even as he maintained that issues will be discussed and sorted out in the alliance.
“We have a close understanding between the partners be it BJP or anybody whatever issues are there we share and discuss in the MDA and I really don’t know about the latest statement but whatever issues are there we discuss and sort it out,” said Tynsong.
His statement comes days after the State BJP, which is an ally of the MDA coalition, made it clear that they are collecting reports and complaints from the ground on the poor implementation of centrally sponsored schemes like Jal Jeevan Mission and PMGKY, which will be submitted to the Centre to pursue.
On the allegation levelled by the BJP, the deputy chief minister chose to reserve his comment until and unless he receives anything in black and white from the BJP or the Centre. “I can’t say anything on it until and unless we get (it) in black and white,” said Tynsong.
Earlier, the State Executive Committee (SEC) of the BJP had taken strong note of the ‘poor’ implementation of central schemes in Meghalaya and had decided to approach the Centre to ensure that these schemes are executed in letter and spirit.
The State BJP had also accused the state government of using the grants availed from the Centre for the party and the party workers instead of the public.
It may be recalled that BJP national vice president and Meghalaya in-charge, M Chuba Ao, had also stated that regional parties with national outlook have one agenda, viz. go to Delhi with a ‘begging bowl’, adding that what they do with it after returning is an open secret.
