TURA, Dec 4: The BJP Mahila Morcha from Tura has berated the state government over pending salaries of SSA teachers, especially at a time when Christmas is just days away.
Lamenting that all demands made by the aggrieved SSA teachers continue to fall on deaf ears, the Mahila Morcha, while referring to the ongoing indefinite hunger strike, said that sorrowful videos from the protest site have surfaced on social media and, despite that, the chief minister continues to keep mum.
“We have seen a mother and a teacher carrying her two-month-old baby in her arms. She is attending the protest despite having difficulties at home due to the pending salaries. Another teacher narrated how she was having problems in trying to pay the school fees of her children. Who is responsible for all this? Why is the Chief Minister silent? Is he not a human being!?” the Mahila Morcha said.
Pointing out that the Christmas and New Year are around the corner, the Mahila Morcha said that the state government’s announcement to clear two months’ salaries of SSA teachers will not be enough as many of them have already borrowed money for their survival.
Asking the state government to stop holding Centre accountable over the unpaid dues of SSA teachers, the Mahila Morcha alleged that the state government has already been getting enough funds from the central government.
