MSOA draws up calendar for 2022

SHILLONG, Dec 12: A special general body meeting of the Meghalaya State Olympic Association (MSOA), was held at the MSOA conference hall, here on Saturday.
The meeting approved the calendar and budget of the MSOA for the year 2022 before resolving to conduct the following programs and events:
i) to conduct seminars on the Meghalaya Sports & Youth Policy, including other important subjects
ii) to celebrate the annual international Olympic Day on 23 June 2022
iii) to conduct programs on National Sports Day (celebrated in honour of legendary Olympian hockey player Dhyan Chand) on August 29, 2022
iv) accepted to host the allotted 2nd edition of NE Olympic Games in Shillong during October 2022
v) to conduct the Marathon(42km) in collaboration with the Meghalaya State Athletics Association and Athletics Federation of India.
As part of the 50th Anniversary of statehood celebration, the government of Meghalaya agreed to support hosting the 2nd edition of the North East Olympic Games scheduled to be held in Shillong in October, 2022.
In October 2021, the North East Olympic Association (NEOA) had communicated to the MSOA their willingness to allot the games to Meghalaya in view of its 50th year celebration.
The special general body meeting was presided by the MSOA working president, John F Kharshiing.
