MAWKYRWAT, Dec 13: A resident of Amarsang village in South West Khasi Hills, identified as Paulus G Momin, was reportedly murdered by some unidentified people at Wala Amarsang on Saturday, according to a delayed report.
Following a complaint from the brother of the deceased, Louis G Momin, the police rushed to the place of occurrence and conducted the inquest. Subsequently, it was revealed that there were injury marks behind both the ears caused by sharp weapons, whereas there were no injuries on the body.
According to the sources, the wife of the deceased, on being inquired, said that the duo were heading home from Nongstoin when at Wala Amarsang, some unknown persons in a white Gypsy coming from the opposite direction waylaid them while they were in a car. Three persons stepped out from the Gypsy and asked the husband to exit the car.
The wife, who had to flee the ‘dangerous’ situation, then informed some villagers, but they were hesitant to go look for her husband.
It was only at 5:30 AM the next day that they went to look for him and found him dead at that same spot.
