Fully vaccinated will require negative RT-PCR report to enter Meghalaya from Jan 5

Shillong, January 3: Chief Minister, Conrad K Sangma today informed that the Meghalaya  government had decided to re-imposed some of the Covid pandemic- related restrictions from January 5 in view of the surge of Omnicron cases in various parts of the country.

Talking to reporters after the review meeting of the COVID-19 situation in the State here today, Chief Minister said that the government had decided to impose restrictions on the gathering.

According to him, it is important to impose restrictions now since there is no report of any  Omnicron case in the state as on date.

He further said that there would  be restrictions on movement of private vehicles in Shillong city adding that the odd-even numbers will be made applicable in Shillong for the private vehicles.

Apart from the double vaccinations, he said that the people from outside who are entering the State would require to show COVID-19 negative  report of RT-PCR test conducted within 72 hours  and if not, they would need be tested at the entry point to Meghalaya.

Chief Minister further informed that the night curfew will be re-imposed from 10pm in Shillong city and in all the other districts.

He informed that the respective Deputy Commissioners will come up with the necessary order in this connections. (EOM)
