SHILLONG, Jan 10: TheEnforcement Directorate, Shillong Zonal Office, has sought a copy of the report of the independent inquiry led by retired Justice Mool Chand Garg into the alleged irregularities in the quality of fortified Supplementary Nutrition Programme (SNP) food items meant to be supplied to children, pregnant and lactating women under the ICDS scheme in the state.
The ED had sought the report after it constituted an inquiry against M/s Maruti Quality Products Private Ltd and others under provision of Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002.
However, it may be noted that the one-man inquiry committee is yet to submit its report on the alleged ‘rice scam’.
The committee was asked to submit a report within three months from the date of the issue of the notification and it has been asked to submit interim reports and recommendations to the government from time to time.
