Students go bird watching in Nambor Doigurung Wildlife Sanctuary in Assam

Guwahati, Jan 12: Aaranyak Central Assam Zone, Golaghat (T) Forest Division and NSS Unit, Debraj Roy College, Golaghat jointly organised Nature Trail and Bird Watching programme in Nambor Doigurung Wildlife Sanctuary earlier this week.

The main objective of the programme was to develop interest on Bird Watching and Nature Trail among students and teach them basics of Bird Watching.

S.K. Thakuria, Divisional Forest Officer, Golaghat (T) Forest Division, Ritupaban Bora, ACF, Golaghat (T) Forest Division, Dr. Rajeev Basumatary, Asst. Prof. D.R. College, Abidur Rahman, Manager, Birding & Wildlife tour, Jungle Travels India,  Arif Hussain, Coordinator Aaranyak Central Assam Zone, Samrat Sen Gupta, Asst. Prof. D.R. College, Golaghat attended the program as resource persons and interacted with the participants and briefed about the basic of bird watching, importance of birds, habitats and habits.

Forty-five students from NSS unit of D.R. College, Golaghat participated in the programme. Utpal Paul, Beat Officer, Juriuadolong Forest Beat Office, Jafrul Imteaz Ali, Asst. Coordinator, Aaranyak Central Assam Zone, D. Phukan, FGD, Juriadolong, Beat Office, Swagat Buragohain, Member, Aaranyak and Gyandeep Sharma, Local conservationist were also present.
