SHILLONG, Jan 12: Rangkynsai SC and Shillong Sixers won their respective round of 16 matches in the 9th Ardhendu Chaudhuri Memorial Invitational Tennis Ball Day & Night Cricket Tournament, here on Wednesday.
In the first game, Aparajita CC won the toss against Rangkynsai and fielded first. Rangkynsai scored a massive 95 runs in 8 overs.
Aparajita batted well but were eventually restricted to 57 in the allotted 8 overs, losing by 38 runs. Rohit Rai was adjudged Player-of-the-Match for his 33 runs.
In the other match, Mawbah Strikers fielded first after winning the toss against Shillong Sixers, who posted 68 runs in 8 overs.
In reply, Mawbah Strikers fell only 13 runs short, ending their innings at 55 in 8 overs. Roshan Ram, who scored 16 and took 2 wickets, earned the Player-of-the-Match award
