TURA, Jan 16: Meghalaya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) president, Vincent H Pala will be in Garo Hills on a three-day tour to meet up with members of the Block Congress Committee (BCC) and discuss ways of strengthening the party in the region. This is the first attempt by the state Congress to reorganise itself in the region after losing all their sitting MLAs to the All India Trinamool Congress.
Confirming the visit, former MLA, Deborah Marak said, “The visit will be to meet up with the BCC members so that we can make the party stronger in Garo Hills. We will not be holding any political rallies due to the pandemic situation.”
Pala is due to visit Kharkutta, Mendipathar and Resubelpara in North Garo Hills on Monday. He will pay a visit to the Blocks of Rongjeng, Songsak and Williamnagar in East Garo Hills on Tuesday before rounding off his tour in South Garo Hills by meeting BCC members on Wednesday.
