Missing EGH woman found near border

RESUBELPARA, Jan 22: A woman from East Garo Hills who had gone missing earlier this month was on Saturday found by various NGO members near the Assam-Meghalaya border.
23-year-old Silky Sangma was reportedly found in Dainadubi near the border by members of the NGOs, Dainadubi Circle Youth Organization (DCYO) and another civil body, Achik Indigenous Justice Initiative Forum (AIJIF) who had been contacted for help by her family.
Talking about the recovery mission of Sangma, president of DCYO, Gilsrang D Shira said, “We had sought the help of the police to locate her mobile and found it to be close to Dudhnoi under Goalpara district of Assam. We immediately informed her family members before moving forward to help bring her back from Assam to her family members. They have now been reunited.”
Reportedly, the NGOs found the young woman at about 3 PM on Saturday after which she was received by her husband and brother -in-law in Daindubi.
Silky who hailed from Siju in South West Garo Hills had gone missing on January 7 while on her way to a medical check-up.
