CMs of Assam, Meghalaya to submit dispute resolution prescription to Amit Shah

Guwahati, Jan 29: The Chief Minister of Assam and Meghalaya, Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma and Conrad Sangma today met for another round of discussion aimed at resolving the vexed boundary disputed between the two states in respect of six out of the 12 areas of difference.

Today’s meeting formally decide to submit before the Union Home Minister Amit Shah the decision arrived at by both the CMs for resolution of inter-state boundary disputes.

Briefing the media after the CM-level talks held in Hotel Taj Vivanta here  tonight, Assam’s Minister for Information and Public Relations, Pijush Hazarika informed that the decisions taken by the CM-level parleys on inter-state boundary disputes would be submitted to the Union Home Minister on a later date as resolution of boundary disputes between any two states of the country is a subject assigned to the Central government.
