Inaugurating the Atal Tinkering Lab and the Jubilee higher secondary block of the school, the chief minister on Saturday congratulated the school for its service in ‘educating the heart and mind’ of thousands of students. He also announced financial assistance for the development of the school.
The programme was also attended by Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs, Banteidor Lyngdoh, Executive member of KHADC, Martle Mukhim, students teachers, parents, friends, et al.
Assuring financial assistance towards the school compound, Lyngdoh has promised to hand over a work order to the School Managing Committee.
He has also assured to extend financial support to the school.
During the celebration, school principal, Fr George Jacob, appreciated the staff, students and visionary leaders of the school from past and present.
The programme also saw performances of different cultural items by its students.
It may be mentioned that the Good Shepherd HS School started functioning with only nine students and five teachers in 1972, and has, at present, grown up to be home to 850 students, 33 teachers and five non-teaching staff.
