Rs 14.99 cr disbursed to M’laya: Centre

SHILLONG, Feb 2: An amount of Rs 14.99 crore has been paid out to Meghalaya till date under Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY).
A statement from the Ministry of Women and Child Development informed that a total of 36,269 beneficiaries from Meghalaya have enrolled for the scheme. Similarly, Rs 14.99 crore has been disbursed so far to Meghalaya under the central scheme.
It may be mentioned that under the central scheme, maternity benefit of Rs 5,000 is provided in three instalments to pregnant women and lactating mothers.
The PMMVY is a component under Mission Shakti launched recently to provide integrated benefits to women.
