Shillong, Feb 9: In stark contrast to the statement made by BJP’s state president Ernest Mawrie, cabinet minister and one of the two BJP  MLAs in the state, Sanbor Shullai has said he has no problems working with Congress.

Shullai, the MLA of South Shillong LAC,  defended his statement stating that BJP, Congress, HSPDP are mere political parties and what is important is to work together for the state.

Earlier, the BJP state president had expressed disappointment over the recent political development and said the news of Congress MLAs joining the ruling Meghalaya Democratic Alliance (MDA) came as a surprise.

It may be mentioned that the remaining five MLAs of the Congress in Meghalaya yesterday decided to join the ruling MDA-led by the National People’s Party (NPP) , much to the disappointment of the state and central party leadership.

Earlier, 12 other Congress MLA led by former Chief Minister, Dr Mukul Sangma had left the party to join All India Trinamool Congress (AITC).
