RBI Shillong observes FLW ’22

SHILLONG, Feb 14: In accordance with the Reserve Bank of India’s annual celebration of Financial Literacy Week (FLW), RBI Shillong on Monday organised a programme observing the same.
General Manager and Officer-in-Charge of RBI, Shillong, P Gangte presided over the function while Secretary (Finance), Government of Meghalaya, PK Agrahari attended the function as the chief guest.
This year, the FLW is being observed nationally from February 14-18 on the theme “Go Digital, Go Secure”.
Flagging off the event with a speech, Gangte explained the main features of Digital Financial Services, including “Anywhere, Anytime Transactions” and “Interoperability” while chief guest Agrahari discussed the theme of the FL Week with emphasis on security and protection to customers.
As part of the programme, posters and leaflets on the messages of the FLW 2022 in Garo, Khasi and Pnar languages besides English and Hindi have been provided to the banks and financial institutions for display and distribution in their premises and ATMs and customers for wider dissemination.
In addition to other activities during the week, officials of RBI Shillong will also partake in nine Financial Literacy Camps (FLCs) conducted by the banks in various locations of the state. They are also set to visit 4 RSETIs in Mawphlang, Tura, Nongstoin and Umran to sensitize their trainees.
All the banks operating in Meghalaya have also been instructed to conduct FL camps across the State.
Flex banners on the theme of FL Week 2022 are provided to Lead District Managers, and District Development Managers (DDMs) for display in their office premises during the FL Week 2022.
