1st Div Cricket: Sunrise hand Young Guns 169-run defeat

SHILLONG, Feb 23: Sunrise XI hammered Young Guns CC by 169 runs in their Shillong Cricket Association Forst Division match, here on Wednesday with Player-Manish Sangma smashing a brilliant 100 off 93 balls. Young Guns opted to field first after winning the toss following which Sunrise scored a competitive 240/9 in the allotted 35 overs. Manish led the onslaught with his 100 while Krishna Chettri scored a run-a-ball 40. Azad Qureshi (3/45) and Magnus Jala (3/47) took three wickets each in their respective 7 overs. The chase turned out to be disastrous for Young Guns as wickets tumbled quickly. They were eventually bowled out for just 71 runs in 19.3 overs. Jameel Shah was the top-scorer with 18 runs. Joydeep Ghosh bowled a tight spell, taking 3/10 from his 7 overs whiel Arbind Kumar also took 3 wickets to hand Sunrise a massive 169-run victory.
